Shipping Policy:
We hold stock in Melbourne, Australia and ship most orders the same day when placed before 12:00noon AEST. If your item is currently not in stock, we will call you once your order is processed. If you would prefer to confirm stock availability before ordering, please ring 0414 777 858.
We ship items through Australia Post and other tracked couriers (eg. Fedex, Hunter Express etc) to all locations in Australia. We do not accept international orders through our website. Please contact through the contact form on the website, or directly by email to (blackstarmarine@outlook.com) to request international shipping.
The appropriate carrier is selected for shipment based on the item that is ordered and your location. We provide tracking numbers for all orders once they have been dispatched. We also offer local pickup. Please ring 0414 777 858 to arrange a time for you to come and see us.
Flat rate shipping and express post shipping via Australia Post is available for products as specified on the website. Flat rate and Express Post shipping are calculated in the website and will be added to the order before checkout. Shipping classes and estimates are determined by the size and weight of the item purchased
Shipping costs for large and bulky items will vary based on destination, carrier type and freight class. The website will advise customers to contact Blackstar Marine on 0414 777 858 for an estimate of the shipping cost of large and bulky items.
Returns:
Please choose carefully. We do not normally accept returns if you simply change your mind or make a wrong decision. Special-order items, non-stock items sourced specifically for a customer, clearance items, and consumable goods are generally not eligible for return. If you wish to initiate a return or consider an item to be defective please contact us promptly.
You may request a return within 21 days of the purchase date.
To be eligible for return:
- The item must be returned unused with all its accessories in its original packaging within 30 days of the purchase date.
- The item must not be damaged, modified, marked, or altered.
- Proof of purchase is required.
We reserve the right to refuse returns on items that do not meet these requirements. A restocking fee may apply on special order and high-value items where these returns are accepted, and in special circumstances on items that do not meet the return qualifications outlined above.
Where an item sold is accepted as defective you will be provided with a replacement or refund for that product in accordance with the warranty terms of the manufacturer.
Please contact us prior to returning any defective item and for all warranty returns.
Refunds:
Returned items must first be received, inspected and tested by us before a refund is authorised.
Where applicable after returned items have been inspected and/or tested, we will notify you on the outcome and either accept or reject your refund request.
If your refund has been accepted, your refund will be processed to the original payment method used for the purchase within 7 business days of notification.
If our inspection determines that the product is not faulty, has been modified, is damaged, has been incorrectly installed, improperly handled, or is no longer covered under warranty, your refund request will not be accepted.
Warranty Policy:
We are confident that our products will work faultlessly once installed. In addition, many of our new items are sold with a 12-month replacement warranty backed by Australian and International suppliers that are product specific. Warranty Terms and Conditions for minor items (eg., electrical, cooling, sterndrive and engine parts) will be set out in the website advertisement, and this policy. Warranty terms and conditions vary between manufacturer’s so please contact us on 0414 777 858 if you have questions on warranty conditions. No warranty is provided for consumable or used items, except as specifically advised in writing.
Warranty terms and conditions on major items (eg., marine gearboxes or engines) will vary between manufacturer’s, and will be provided separately and documented in the sales and invoicing documentation. To the extent allowed under Australian Consumer Law, Blackstar Marine shall have no liability for any downstream direct or indirect related expenses, or consequential or special damages. No responsibility or liability is accepted for any injury, loss or damage, directly or indirectly, to person or property resulting from the sale or use of its products. Warranty shall not be applicable to items installed in craft used for racing or high-performance applications unless specifically approved in writing by Blackstar Marine.
During the warranty period, if a defect arises on a minor item, and a valid claim is accepted, Blackstar Marine will at its discretion, either:
- Replace the product
- Repair the product
- Refund the original purchase price of the product
Warranty does not cover damages or defects caused by:
- Incorrect installation
- Misuse, abuse, accident or neglect
- Modifications made to the item
- External causes such as fire, or liquid damage including water ingress
- Extraordinary, unforeseeable events beyond our control (Force Majeure)
For major items key warranty terms and conditions will be set out in the website advertisement, and will be supplemented by additional information, provided separately at the time of sale.
To initiate a claim under warranty simply email us with your name, invoice number and details of the issue/fault to blackstarmarine@outlook.com. We will respond promptly on receipt.
Security Policy:
Blackstar Marine complies with the Privacy Act (1988). We take reasonable precautions to protect your personal information.
When purchasing from Blackstar Marine, card details are processed through a secure Westpac server or Paypal. Card data is not stored by Blackstar Marine.
When your purchase items through our store, personal data such as names, email addresses, shipping details and order history is collected and retained as required to meet business and legislative requirements.
When you provide personal information to complete a transaction, you consent to our collection and disclosure of that information to complete that specific purpose.
International Orders – Duties, Taxes & Customs Charges
International orders to selected countries may be arranged through direct sales contact. Please ring 0414 777 858. Selected countries include New Zealand, Fiji, Noumea. Orders to countries outside that list are restricted and will only be accepted in special circumstances. International Orders will not be accepted or processed through the website card facilities.
International Orders for may be subject to import duties, taxes, VAT/GST, customs clearance fees, brokerage fees, and other charges imposed by the destination country. These charges are not included in the product price or shipping cost displayed at checkout and are the responsibility of the recipient.
Blackstar Marine has no control over these charges and cannot predict their amount, as they vary between countries. Refunds are not applicable to overseas sales. Warranties will be as specified in formal correspondence between the parties and invoices. If customs charges are refused by the recipient and the shipment is returned, any return freight costs, customs duties, taxes, brokerage fees, customs clearance charges, carrier fees, and restocking fees incurred will be deducted from any refund issued.
We recommend contacting your local customs office before placing an order if you are unsure what charges may apply. For some countries, customs authorities may require additional information such as a passport number, national identification number, tax identification number, or business registration number before a shipment can be cleared.
